Bharat Electronics Ltd., a defence PSU, and Goa Shipyard Ltd. have agreed to work together to produce goods and services in the field of autonomous navigation.
The MoU aims to make the most of the strengths and capacities of the two businesses, which will collaborate on the development of autonomously steered vessels and its offshoots. They will also focus on improving digital ship control, ship simulation, vessel networking, and other areas.
Goa Shipyard, a miniratna PSU noted for producing cutting-edge defence vessel. It has created numerous quick patrol boats, survey boats, missile boats, and offshore patrol boats. Over 150 GRP boats and 227 ships have been manufactured and delivered by Goa Shipyard as of this posting.
