The United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has granted final approval to Zydus Lifesciences for Acyclovir Cream, 5%. (USRLD: Zovirax Cream). Acyclovir belongs to the antiviral medication class. Acyclovir cream is used to treat cold sores (fever blisters caused by the herpes simplex virus) on the face or lips. The product will be available in the United States soon. The medication will be produced at the group’s topical manufacturing facility in Changodar, Ahmedabad (India). In the United States, Acyclovir Cream, 5% had annual sales of USD 16.9 million (IQVIA MAT Dec. 2022).
