Tata Power Solar Systems to set up 300 MW solar project for NLC India in Rajasthan

Tata Power Solar Systems Limited (TPSSL), one of India’s largest integrated solar companies, has received a Rs 1,755 crore Letter of Award (LoA) for a 300 MW Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) based EPC project for NLC India Limited (NLCIL), formerly known as Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited, as part of the CPSU scheme. The project, located in the Bikaner District of Rajasthan, is expected to generate more than 750 million units and save 6 lakh tonnes of CO2 per year. NLCIL has been a forerunner among Public Sector Enterprises in the energy sector, with large-scale lignite production and a significant share of thermal and renewable power generation.

TPSSL will also operate and maintain the project for three years following the commercial operation declaration (COD). The project’s LoA was awarded through competitive bidding. The project will be commissioned within 18 months of receiving the LoA. TPSSL will handle the entire project execution, from design to commissioning and the evacuation system all the way to delivery (220KV side of pooling Sub-station). TPSSL has completed some of the country’s most significant EPC and large-scale solar projects. TPSSL’s total portfolio will reach 11.5GWp as a result of this victory. TPSSL’s total order book is currently around Rs 17,000 crore.
