Tata Motors’ subsidiary signs definitive pact with DTC to operate 1500 EV buses

Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, announced that Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has signed a definitive agreement with TML CV Mobility Solutions Ltd., its wholly owned subsidiary, for the operation of 1500 electric buses in the national capital.

TML CV Mobility Solutions Ltd. will supply, operate, and maintain 1500 units of 12-metre low-floor air-conditioned electric buses over a 12-year period as part of the agreement. Tata Starbus EV is a vehicle developed in-house that has a superior design and best-in-class features for a sustainable and comfortable commute.

“We are delighted to have signed the largest order of 1500 electric buses in Delhi. This is a significant step forward in the capital city’s embrace of electric mobility. The introduction of zero-emission, noise-free buses will significantly improve the city’s air quality. The new buses will also greatly benefit commuters due to their cutting-edge technology and comfortable seating “, the company stated.

Tata Motors’ cutting-edge research and development facilities have been hard at work developing innovative mobility solutions powered by alternative fuel technology, such as battery-electric, hybrid, CNG, LNG, and Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology.

Tata Motors has supplied more than 730 electric buses across multiple cities in India, with a total mileage of more than 55 million kilometres and an uptime of more than 95%.
