SJVN secures 200 MW Solar Project at Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat

A 200 MW Grid Connected Solar Power Project in Khavda Solar Park, Gujarat has been won by SJVN, a joint venture between the governments of India and Himachal Pradesh, through an e-Reverse auction held by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). SJVN will construct, own, and manage the solar project, which is anticipated to produce 505 million energy units in its first year of operation and 11,756 million units total over the course of its 25-year lifespan.

576,067 tonnes of carbon emissions are anticipated to be cut after the project is put into operation. Under GUVNL’s Open Competitive Tariff Bidding, SJVN was awarded the project with a quoted capacity of 200 MW at a price of Rs 2.88 per unit. The project is anticipated to cost approximately Rs 1200 Crores.
According to Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN, the company shares the government’s goal of creating a carbon-neutral economy. SJVN’s solar and wind portfolio now stands at 17,620 MW, of which 179.5 MW is operational and the remaining portion is in various stages of implementation.
