Larsen and Toubro (L&T) announced that its construction arm has won a number of “significant” contracts for its businesses, which include power transmission and distribution, as well as building and factories. According to a BSE filing, L&T Construction received orders worth 1,000 crore to 2,500 crore. “The renewables arm of the power transmission and distribution business has received a turnkey EPC order to establish a 112.5MW Solar Power Plant in the south-western part of West Bengal,” according to a statement from the company.
This package was awarded through an international competitive bidding process by the state undertaking, which is implementing this project with funding from a foreign development bank. The company received an order to develop power distribution infrastructure in the central-western part of Uttar Pradesh under the revamped reforms-linked distribution scheme, it added.
The multinational conglomerate’s construction and manufacturing division has received an order from Nanavati Max Super Specialty Hospital to build a state-of-the-art 600-bed super specialty hospital in Vile Parle, Mumbai. The scope of work for this brownfield project includes turnkey construction of 7.3 lakh square feet in two phases, according to the company. The first phase will take 23 months to complete, and the second phase will take 17 months, with a three-month gap in between for shifting and demolishing existing buildings.
