The Life Insurance Corporation of India has increased its stake in Bata India from 57,48,071 to 64,36,692 equity shares, increasing its stake in the company’s paid-up capital from 4.472% to 5.008%, according to ET NOW. On Friday, Bata India shares closed at Rs 1,417 on the NSE, up Rs 10.25 or 0.73%. Meanwhile, LIC’s stock finished the day at Rs 535, up Rs 3.15 or 0.59%. The company, an Indian subsidiary of the Swiss multinational company Bata Corporation, manufactures footwear, apparel, and fashion accessories.
