IRCON Intl bags a deal from Sri Lanka Railways

Sri Lanka Railways, Ministry of Transport, Sri Lanka, has awarded Ircon International (IRCON) the contract for the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and certifying of signalling and telecommunication systems from Maho Junction (including) to Anuradhapura (excluding). The project is funded by an Indian Line of Credit and costs a total of $14.89 million (approximately Rs 122 crore). This work was awarded through competitive bidding, and the contract period will be 24 months from the date of contract signing.

IRCON International is a public sector construction company that focuses on infrastructure projects and specialises in the turnkey execution of railway projects. After beginning as a railway construction company, it gradually expanded into roads, buildings, electrical substation and distribution, airport construction, commercial complexes, and metro rail works.
