Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited (GEMPL), Greaves Cotton Limited’s e-mobility division, has used the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio of software and services to design and develop electric two and three-wheeler vehicles for the Indian market.
The Siemens Xcelerator portfolio’s NX software for product design and engineering and Teamcenter software for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) will assist Greaves Electric Mobility in developing products faster by streamlining and accelerating the product development process through an integrated set of digital product engineering and collaboration capabilities.
These solutions will allow GEMPL to reduce development time by utilising digital twins efficiently and connecting people and processes across functions. Digital capabilities will be enabled specifically in the areas of requirements engineering, programme planning, mechanical, electrical, and software design management, bill of material management, process management, and change management.
“We are proud to collaborate with Siemens and use its highly advanced digital capabilities, cutting-edge technologies, and expertise to accelerate product development and, as a result, market expansion of our electric vehicle product portfolio,” GEMPL said. With rising consumer demand for sustainable and affordable personal mobility, India’s EV ecosystem is poised for rapid expansion. Siemens’ toolset will allow us to shorten the time to market for electric two-wheelers under Ampere, as well as contribute to the country’s goal of achieving 80% EVs in two and three-wheelers by 2030 and net zero carbon emissions by 2070.”
