EKI Energy Services (EKI) announced the signing of a consultancy service contract with Kochi Metro Rail (KMRL), a Joint Venture Company of the Governments of India and Kerala. The contract was signed in response to EKI’s winning of a tender to provide carbon credit advisory services to KMRL. EKI will provide development and assistance for the Validation, Registration, Verification, Issuance, and Trading of carbon credits projects for the Kochi Metro Rail Project under the terms of the contract.
EKI will manage projects eligible for carbon credits from start to finish, including verification in accordance with the guidelines followed by International Carbon Credit Mechanisms, as part of the contract. Kochi Metro Rail will also be able to monetize emission reductions and earn additional revenue with the help of EKI, which it will use to support its numerous development initiatives.
