The Ministry of Defence has awarded Bharat Electronics contracts worth Rs 5,498 crore. Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has announced that it has received ten contracts from the Ministry of Defence worth Rs 5,498 crore (MoD). The Ministry of Defence has agreed to buy 90 units of EW Suite Equipment for Medium Lift Helicopters from BEL Bangalore. In addition, the MoD has signed a two-squadron maintenance contract with BEL Bangalore for the Akash Missile System. The AMS is a medium-range surface-to-air missile system designed and built by DRDO and BEL.
BEL Ghaziabad has also been awarded the contract for Project Akashteer, which entails the development of an Automated Air Defence Control and Reporting System. The contract to manufacture the Instant Fire Detection and Suppression System (IFDSS) for the T 72 tank has been awarded to BEL Kotdwara. This system was designed in-house by DRDO and will be manufactured by BEL Kotdwara. The latest state-of-the-art Portable Software Defined Radio (SDR) for the Indian Navy, consisting of 1265 units, was developed collaboratively by DEAL (DRDO) and BEL, according to BEL.
The HD VLF HF Receiver is a piece of communication equipment made up of 1178 units that is specifically designed for receiving and demodulating data and voice in the VLF and HF bands of operation. The equipment will be used on ships and submarines of the Indian Navy. The Sarang system, which consists of 12 units, will be installed on the Indian Navy’s Kamov 31 helicopters. The project was developed and designed by DLRL, and it will be manufactured in Hyderabad by BEL.
The Indian Navy also awarded BEL three more projects: INS-SA, CMS for P17 and P28, and Varuna EW.
