Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL), a Navratna Defense PSU, and Profense LLC, a US company, have inked an MoU to collaborate on the production and sale of light weapons. The goal of the MoU is to make use of the complementary assets and competencies of Profense LLC and BEL. The two businesses will be able to jointly create light weaponry to meet both the present and future demands of the market.
State-run BEL is a Navratna PSU that is under the Indian government’s Ministry of Defence. It produces systems and electronic goods for the Army, Navy, and Air Force. As of September 30, 2022, 51.14% of BEL was owned by the Indian government.
