State-run GAIL India and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore partnership possibilities in the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and decarbonization, including short- and long-term sales agreements.
At the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, the agreement was signed on Monday in Abu Dhabi by GAIL India CMD Sandeep Kumar Gupta and ADNOC LNG CEO Fatema Al Nuaimi in the presence of Indian Oil Minister HS Puri and UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber (ADIPEC).
In order to enhance low-carbon LNG supply, the agreement covers potential optimization of LNG trading activities, examination of joint equity investments in renewable energy, and monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions for LNG cargoes, according to a statement from ADNOC.
