RailTel Corporation of India rose 2.07% to Rs 115.90 after receiving a Rs 27.07 crore work order from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the IT network infrastructure. BMRCL is a joint venture between the governments of Karnataka and India. According to the company, the work will be completed in three months. Furthermore, the company secured a 5-year, 10-year comprehensive annual maintenance contract (CAMC) worth Rs 6.22 crore per year.
RailTel is a “Mini Ratna (Category-I)” company. Central Public Sector Enterprise is an ICT provider and one of the largest neutral telecom infrastructure providers in the country, with a pan-India optic fibre network on exclusive Right of Way (ROW) along railway track. The Government of India owns 72.84% of the company as of December 31, 2022.
